与画画无关 / Nothing to do with drawing
When I first felt the stiffness and slight pain on my left thumb, I thought it was due to too much drawing. And as the symptoms spread to the other fingers, I decided to take a break from drawing so as to let my fingers rest.
But when my right hand fingers began to feel the same stiffness and pain, I knew it had nothing to do with drawing anymore.
For months, I tried to endure the aching pain from my frozen shoulder and my ten fingers and hoped that they will somehow heal and subside. But it didn’t and affected my sleep at night.
Visiting the doctor that I visited 2 years back for my frozen shoulder would then be the next best alternative, and so I did today.
And as per what I have researched on the web, I am potentially having osteoarthritis for my fingers.
Looking at it positively, I am happy that it has nothing to do with drawing, and that means I can continue to draw, continue to challenge myself.
I started drawing Jiang Xiao’s portrait for the third time last night and couldn’t complete it. So I took the opportunity of more than 3 hours waiting time in the clinic to finish up my latest “art piece” using Procreate.
As I looked at the final work, I just couldn’t tell where is wrong with the drawing, but it certainly does not look exactly like Jiang Xiao.
The only comforting part is that I can see some improvements from the last 2 sketches which I did using graphite pencils and paper.
